About · Chirag Patel, MD

Specialist care, delivered like it matters.

Practice

A specialist's focus,
a generalist's range.

Dr. Chirag Patel is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon focused primarily on conditions of the foot and ankle, with a particular emphasis on sports medicine and the active patient population. He has been in practice with OrthoCollier in Naples since 2012.

Dr. Patel sees the full range of foot and ankle pathology — from the weekend tennis injury and the chronic Achilles to bunion correction, ankle reconstruction, total ankle replacement, sports trauma, and complex limb salvage. The practice favors evidence-based, conservative care where it works, and surgical precision where it's needed. The goal is always the same: restore function, return the patient to what they actually want to do.

My practice is based on a few simple principles. The first one is to treat your patients the way you would treat your friends and family.

Outside the office

Roots, now planted

Born in India, Dr. Patel grew up across North Carolina and Texas before settling in Naples in 2012. He came to lay roots in a community where most people only come to vacation — drawn by the warm weather, the proximity to the water, and the chance to build a long practice in a place worth committing to. Family has since followed, and he and his wife, a nephrologist, have built a circle of close friends in the area over the years.

His upbringing across cultures and geographies makes him comfortable across the range of patients he sees in Southwest Florida — Hindi and Gujarati where they help, English where they don't, and the same standard of care regardless. Outside the office, he plays tennis, hikes, travels, spends time around the water, and is a serious foodie. He is a volunteer preceptor for high school students considering careers in medicine, and previously served as a volunteer team physician for Bonita Springs High School.
